Ladies Lunch Club meeting July 23rd 2010

Join us for what promises to be an interesting and enlightening talk on Bess of Hardwick by Dr Gillian White on Friday 23rd July. Gillian White is a popular freelance lecturer who gives presentations to a number of groups including NADFAS, History Socities and National Trust groups. She also contributes to Continuing Education programmes at Oxford, Warwick and Bristol Universities.

Bess of Hardwick could be described as the Alpha female of the Elizabethan age! In her own right she was renowned as a moneylender, property dealer, investor in iron works, coal mines and glass works.

Country Fair 1st August 2010

Join us on Sunday 1st August from 12.30 to 4.30pm for our Charity Open Day and Country Fair. The garden will be filled with stalls of local produce and crafts to sample and buy, Divine Chocolate’s Chocolatier will be demonstrating and offering Divine samples. Pudding Club puddings will be available to sample and buy too. There will be a Mickleton through the Decades Photographic Exhibition, a Pig Roast and Live Music.

All proceeds will be split between Mickleton School, the Pre School Toddler Group, Mickleton Young Gardeners, Mickleton in Bloom and The Joseph Webb Hall.

Have you gone digital recently and want to improve your photographic skills to get the best out of your camera? Then why not join us for an exciting weekend workshop with professional photographer and tutor - Paul Southall from DCZ Photography?

Paul has travelled extensively to capture motor sport and travel images and undertakes commissions of all styles from Portrait to Product shots for both private and business clients. He is actively involved with tutoring on a number of photography courses throughout the Midlands and we are delighted to have secured Paul's services for photographic workshops here at Three Ways House Hotel.
Digital technology provides exciting and challenging opportunities for developing your creativeness and technical scope for image processing. To help you in your pursuit of perfect images, over the weekend you will learn how to:

• See and compose great images
• Work with various techniques
• Take advantage of conditions "on the day"
• How to set up your camera in the best way

The weekend will include a photography slideshow, tutorial presentations and practical workshops and a review/critique of your photographs through a laptop and onto a big screen.

Two nights’ accommodation with dinner on one evening and a chance to experience the Pudding Club on the other evening, full breakfast on both days, lunch on Saturday and Sunday and VAT@ 20%.

Rates from £299 per guest based on 2 people sharing a double/twin room. Partner rates from £155 inclusive of dinner, bed and breakfast.
